Ok ok, I have been absolutely useless at blogging recently; this whole year has just been non-stop and I have never been so tired in my entire life - but I have been itching to share some images from this Wedding since I delivered the photos to the newlyweds! This Wedding is the stuff dreams are made of!
Gemma first got in touch after seeing a mutual friend's Wedding online that I had previously photographed. After speaking with her for no more than 5 minutes, it was a Wedding that I knew had to be involved in.
It goes without saying that all Wedding venues are unique in their own little way and mean something special to the bride and groom but when she mentioned that they had booked The Kingscote Barn, a wedding venue in The Cotswolds, I couldn't contain my excitement - It was right up my street!
Months went by, and I had secretly been looking forward to this Wedding all season. The Cotswolds is also of signifance to my wife and I, as it is where we got engaged and also where we went on our 'mini-moon'. Gemma & John's Wedding date also tied in nicely with our 2nd Wedding Anniversary so we decided to make a weekend of it.
We spent some time with Gemma and her two bridemaids during her final hours as an un-married woman, photographing the final preparations where the atmosphere was super relaxed. It would seem Gemma couldn't wait to walk down the aisle as she was ready to rock and in her dress well before showtime! She wore a stunningly simple, yet elegant Wedding gown by Pronovias.
As Gemma & John's guests began to arrive, I started to question whether I was shooting a Wedding for OK! Magazine - who on Earth has friends that are all this photogenic!? You sure you guys didn't hire these as extras?!
As people began to take their seats, with excitement building in the room, John and his groomsmen waited patiently at the front of the beautifully decorated barn. The clock on the exterior wall struck 2:00 and it was now time to bring all the months of planning together.
Gemma & John wanted to spend as much time with their guests as possible so opted to have a relatively short, informal portrait session followed by a few group shots.
Whilst the group shots were underway the Kingscote team transformed the Ceremony room into the Reception room - not sure whether wizardry was involved or just efficient use of resources and planning...
Now and again, there can often be a bit of a lul at Weddings after the ceremony, however, this lot got the party started away with an awesome acoutic-duo set by London based Marcel & Matt.
Que the Prosecco, Jaegers and dancing...
There were speeches from Huw, the Father of The Bride; John, the Groom and of course Snowy and Josh, the Best men, who seemed to have more props than a fancy dress shop!
After the formalities, the celebrations got pretty loose pretty quickly with a packed dancefloor all night - with South Wales based band, Jeris Music providing the perfect soundtrack for some hellish dance moves!
On behalf of Charlie and I, I'd like to Congratulate Gemma & John and wish them the best for their future. You guys are clearly meant to be together and I am sure you will have an awesome life together full of happiness and incredible experiences.
Also a big thank you to your family and friends for making us feel so welcome, not forgetting the incredible staff at Kingscote! What a Wedding...

Now the bit that all photographers hate - the shameless SEO plug! If you’re getting married or know someone who is and is in need of a Cotswolds Wedding Photographer / Kingscote Barn Photographer or a South Wales Wedding Photographer, I would love to hear from you.
I am also happy to travel all over the UK and beyond should you require a destination wedding photographer.
