The Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photography
Kirsty & Sean's London elopement-style Wedding was a celebration of love, adventure, and most importantly, doing things their way. I love nothing more than couples who throw tradition out the door and do their Wedding the way they want. Whilst tradition can be great, I feel many couples make certain choices in regard to their Wedding based on what they think is 'expected' or what the latest Instagram trend is, so it's really refreshing when couples plan a Wedding that reflects them.
There’s something truly magical about escaping to London for an intimate wedding at The Old Marylebone Town Hall. Nestled in the heart of one of the city's most iconic neighbourhoods, this historic venue offers the perfect blend of classic elegance and modern charm. With its stunning art-deco interiors and timeless architecture, it provides a striking backdrop for couples looking to create a day that’s both chic and meaningful.
For Kirsty & Sean, it was the perfect place to exchange their vows — private, sophisticated, and brimming with that 'city-vibe' character. Whether you're drawn to the elegance of the space or the allure of a city that's full of romance, getting married at Marylebone feels like stepping into your own unforgettable love story. It’s the kind of venue that captures the essence of London’s charm while offering a truly personal experience - which is what the couple wanted.
The venue has played host to countless Celebrity nuptials over the years including Paul McCartney, Kate Moss and Liam Gallagher. To say I was excited to tick off one of my 'bucket list' Wedding venues, was an understatement.
London Wedding Photographer
Kirsty and I have known each other since secondary school, so when she reached out about the possibility of booking me as her wedding photographer, I was thrilled. She started describing the vision she had for the day and I knew it was exactly the kind of vibe that I also envisioned so I was really keen to be part of the day. I love the non-traditional wedding photography approach and a city Wedding lends well to this style.
The day kicked off with a short walk from where we were staying to the Marylebone Town Hall, where I captured some exterior shots in the soft morning light as the city slowly came to life. After that, I headed to the nearby Holmes Hotel to photograph the bridal preparations, capturing those special, intimate moments before the ceremony as well as some banging bridal portraits. Kirsty looked insane and grew in confidence after I showed her the back of the camera.
As bridal looks go, Kirsty nailed her look wearing an off-the-shoulder silky satin midi dress with a corseted-bodice from House of CB Bridal. The dress was complemented by the simple yet striking elegance of red roses by Burtons Blooms, and of course black sunglasses to complete that 'celebrity look'.
Following on from bridal prep, we left just ahead of the bridal party in order to get some shots of the Groom and get set up. The Old Marylebone Town Hall operates with impressive precision, adhering to strict timings to manage the multiple Weddings they host every day.
The ceremony, which was held in the Mayfair room, was intimate and heartfelt, filled with love and lots of happy tears. To make it even more special, the couple invited their guests to take part in the warming of the rings, adding a meaningful, personal touch to the occasion.
Portraits
Following the Ceremony and confetti, we had a small timeframe of approx 5-10 minutes using the town hall's stunning exterior with its tall, graceful Corinthian pillars and smooth sandstone walls. The iconic columns frame the entrance beautifully, adding a touch of classic elegance to the building. The soft, pale stone and symmetrical design create a timeless feel that’s perfect for wedding photos.
We then took a wander around the surrounding area, which was such a treat for me as a photographer. There's something special about not knowing exactly what you'll find, just capturing whatever catches your eye. The couple also had a lovely moment, sharing their first cocktail as Mr & Mrs at their hotel, which was conveniently en route. It was a relaxed and intimate way to celebrate the start of their new journey together.
Dinner at The Ivy Soho
Kirsty & Sean were then met at The Ivy Brasserie in Soho by their guests to continue the Celebrations.
"I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I cannot believe how perfect the photos are!"

Time To Party
Now the formalities were concluded, it was time to party into the night at one of the quirkiest cocktail spots in town - The Little Scarlet Door. Styled on New York’s iconic loft apartments, it's created to feel like you’re walking into someone’s home. Kirsty & Sean hired a private area in the industrial style basement studio before the DJ really kicked things off.
One of the standout moments was Sean’s epic dance floor comebacks, breaking out every 10 minutes after a periodic recharge, as if he was pacing himself for maximum impact. It worked! And my cheeks were in pain from laughing!
What a Wedding!
Kirsty and Sean’s wedding at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall was nothing short of incredible. From the intimate ceremony to the vibrant celebration that followed, we had the most incredible day surrounded by the most wonderful people. As a wedding photographer, capturing such beautiful moments at one of London's most historic and picturesque venues was an absolute joy. Every smile, every laugh, and every tear helped making this a day to remember, and we’re so grateful to have been part of their special day. If you’re looking for a London wedding photographer who knows how to capture the true essence of your love story, we’d love to help you make your day just as unforgettable as Kirsty and Sean’s.
